Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models of existing equipment by converting AutoCAD drawings to SolidWorks models and drawings.
• Design and draft new components utilizing SolidWorks.
• Design and model enhancements of existing projects from AutoCAD to SolidWorks.
• Able to create detailed drawings that meet both industry and company drafting standards.
• Create and execute change requests of existing drawings.
• Perform drawing corrections and revisions.
• As a member of our team, you will work to develop 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and many other activities to support the design and manufacturing processes.

Experience and Skills

• Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks (3D design software required) and AutoCAD (2D & 3D software) for CAD modeling and manufacturing drawings. Being a Certified SolidWorks Professional or Expert a plus but not required.
• Advanced training or experience with complex sheet metal design.
• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and finishes.
• Knowledge of engineering drawing practices (ASME standards preferred)
• Experience with ERP and PDM systems, for document, material, BOM and revisions
• Experience working in manufacturing with exposure to welding and metal fabrication processes or similar hands-on fabrication environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Working knowledge of Design Tables.
• Experience in Structural Steel detailing, Architectural or Civil design a plus but not required.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to meet deadlines and achieve goals with minimal supervision.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Possess a strong work ethic. Willing to work overtime as required to complete projects.
• Candidate must be organized, efficient, and detail oriented.
• Must be capable of taking direction and constructive criticism.
• Must be flexible and willing to serve the changing needs of customers and the Company as a whole, while acting as a team player.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to take ownership and responsibility for the quality of his/her own work.
• Requires teamwork and the strong ability to work with others to accomplish a common goal.

Education and Other Requirements

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• SolidWorks Certified (Not Required, but a Plus).
• 1-3 years of relevant experience showing increasing levels of complexity and responsibility.
